Just tried to install the PC Suite update (for 'stability' and Windows 7) and it froze my Windows Vista computer for 20 mintes before I had to abort. I should not have trusted it to begin with. How do I turn off update notifications in PC Suite? Thanks.

PC Suite - Error 'Unable to load Progress Interface'

I installed Nokia PC Suite (7.1.40.1) to a netbook running XP Home and tried to sync my N95 with the Outlook data and received an error message of 'Unable to load Progress Interface'. The phone connects OK but times out while the error message displays. Once the error message is closed down the sync attempt stops with no success.

I previously had no problems syncing with an earlier version of PC Suite on a different laptop. I removed and reinstalled Nokia PC Suite 3 times but the error persists.

Can anyone help please?

Postal addresses not synchronising from Outlook

I just got a Nokia 6303 Classic. I installed PC Suite v 7.1.40.1 and synchronised with Outlook 2007 (SP2) and all went as I expected. I then updated the phone's firmware from v 8.9 to v 9.1 and synchronised again. This time I lost nearly all the postal addresses from my Contacts on the phone. The only two that made it to the phone (out of over 600) are two that have a Business address - and those two have nothing in the 'Name' field so cannot be searched for on the phone! All my other contacts have only a Home address and none of these addresses have syncronised.

How can I get all my contacts' home addresses to synchronise to the phone??

I'm running Windows Vista SP2.

Database migration of text messages

Can't they make it easier to archive old stuff?

My database on Nokia Photos is 250MB and is becoming really sluggish

So I started off on Nokia PC Suite 5, the earliest I've got on file is 6.2 from 2004 which lets me view old text messages. I paid for Lifeblog 1 and lost the ability to view the old text messages. Lifeblog 2 was free grrr loved the ability to blog my life for personal viewing, now Photos has come along but did have Lifeblog support and migrated the old stuff, but I need a way of archiving it so it doesn't load all my messages and photos.

Nokia yesterday pushed out an update "for Windows 7 and stability fixes" but the drivers cause a Stop Error (blue screen and need to reboot) for Windows XP SP3. This happened twice in one day. Advice is to stay with 7.1.39.9 until they fix the error.

Why all these Nokia services loaded in memory?

Every time I start my PC, quite a number of Nokia services are started that use up RAM. Quite a lot in fact. Like Nokia M Platform, Nokia OVI Player, Nokia OVI Suite, just to name a few. I am not sure what other PC users who happen to have a Nokia phone do when they use their PCs. For me, when I use my PC, most of the time I am not connecting my phone to my PC. I don't need my PC to answer SMS and etc. Wouldn't it be nice if all these Nokia services are loaded as and when needed? Like download Nokia music into the phone?

Every day, I have to bring up the task manager and manually switch off the services one by one.

[RECURRING BUG] Update will always fail when triggered from PC Suite

Hi,

Since I have installed PC Suite last year, the same old bug re-appears each time a new release is made available. The scenario is invariable

1. I launch PC Suite and it tells me there's a new version available.

2. I acknowledge and accept the download.

3. PC Suite downloads the new installer and stops at 99%.

4. Then it tells me that it couldn't download the file (although it actually did), stops the process and deletes the downloaded installer (I can see it in my TEMP folder).

5. If I close PC Suite, download the file directly (I have written down the URL) and launch the installer, there's no problem. The new version installs correctly.

This bug has been reported multiple times but nobody seems to move an eyebrow.

I'm using XP Pro SP3. The problem occurs with all versions of PC Suite that I have used. My phone is an E71.

Regards.

--

Patrick

Message Edited by pat91 on 19-Nov-2009 04:57 PM

iSync refuses iCal to sync with

Since a week I have the problem that syncing between my Mac and E71 has stopped.

The point is that in the (updated to v2.2) iSync plug-in window (when the E71 icon has been clicked) the Calendar-option is ticked to off (which is strange as it was On for more than a year now).

Then, if I try to tick it to On, a second window appears, telling me that I should open iCal as otherwise there is no program available to sync to and from.
But iCal is open. If I close it, it gets restarted but the Calendar option still cannot be set to On.
I have restarted all machines. No difference in behavior.

The E71 has the latest available firmware (300.21.012). I run OSX 10.6.2 on a MBP and (consequently) iSync 3.1.0. I fear it's a bug.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I am using windows XP SP3 with microsoft outlook 2008 and nokia pc suite 7.1.40.1.

When I try to configure the syncronisation with Microsoft Outlook, I see the outlook profile. Then I try to select the Outlook folders. I see my gmail account but not the other one that I would like to sync. It is a Zarafa account, syncronised through IMAP with outlook.I get the same problem with the agenda, tasks and accounts.

Any idea of a work-around to sync that folder ?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Best regards,

David
